Nathan Smith
I study the surfaces of terrestrial planets and small solar system bodies, in particular, Mars and its moons. I work primarily with thermal infrared spectroscopy and computer modeling to better understand the thermal and physical properties of these surfaces, such as composition, grain size, and thermal inertia. I'm currently developing a data processing pipeline to create high-level data products using infrared spectra collected from Mars.
